With Melodyne essential, you optimize the intonation and timing of your vocals. You do this by editing Melodyne’s characteristic blobs – fast by macro or in a precisely targeted way by hand. With the sensitivity, musicality and sound quality for which Melodyne is so famous.

Notes and tools

Notes are displayed in Melodyne in the form of "blobs" - the precise path traced by the pitch is indicated by the wavy line. With Melodyne’s tools, you can now edit the notes directly and in real time and modify all important musical parameters. Just grab the notes, and you’ll find you can adjust their pitch, timing and the transitions between them in a highly intuitive manner.

Melodyne offers you algorithms for every type of audio: vocals, instruments, percussive sounds, noise, entire mixes. The algorithm determines how the audio material will be interpreted and displayed.

The world of Melodyne

Melodyne essential provides the perfect point of entry into the world of Melodyne. Easy to use, but just as great in terms of sound as the larger Melodyne editions.

Essential is the edition of Melodyne that offers the basic functions for intonation and timing. The Melodyne technology, however, is capable of far more, making an array of unique functions for music production possible. With the larger editions, for example, you get tools for editing vibrato, sibilants, formants, dynamics and fades; you can even correct errors in polyphonic recordings such as piano or guitar tracks, as well as view and edit multiple tracks simultaneously in a single Melodyne plug-in window. In each case, the cost of the upgrade to a larger edition is merely the difference in price between the two editions. So you end up paying no more than if you had bought the larger Melodyne edition in the first place.
